The Bruno crime organization, or the Bruno Family, is a criminal organization that operates throughout the United States. The organization operates gambling and prostitution rings, loan sharks, drug dealers, and extortion rackets in every [[Metro Area]] and many communities in the [[Non-Assisted Area]]. 


The Bruno Family was formed from the remnants of the Rizzo crime Family, which operated in New Jersey before [[The Plagues]]. [[The Plagues]] devastated the Rizzo organization just like the rest of the nation. Besides killing several key leaders,[[The Plagues]] made it impossible to procure the narcotics the Rizzo family relied on to fund their criminal enterprises.


[[Anthony Bruno]] filled the gap. [[Anthony Bruno|Anthony]] had previously operated as a hit-man within the Rizzo family. His body produced a toxin which he used to perform the murders. Sometime in the mid-1980s, [[Anthony Bruno|Anthony]] was able to transform the toxin his body produced, into the euphoria inducing narcotic known as [[Tranq]]. 


[[Anthony Bruno|Anthony]] used his control over the drug production to take over leadership of the Rizzo organization. He changed the name to the Bruno Family and moved the group out of New Jersey. It is believed they setup their base of operations in New Orleans.


The Bruno Family distributed and sold [[Tranq]] throughout the [[Metro Areas]].  The Bruno family soon expanded into gambling, prostitution, extortion, money laundering, and murder. Their control of the only narcotic available to the United States population gave the organization an economic advantage over other criminal organization. The Bruno Family has been involved in an on and off gang-war with the Pazota Crime family, which is comprised of the remnants of many of the old mafia families


The Bruno Family is known for its employment of Different individuals. [[Strong-Man]] Differents use their physical strength to operate as nearly unstoppable enforcers for the Bruno Family. [[Heater]] Differents are used to burn down businesses that do not pay a protection fees. [[Speedster]]s are able to commit thefts while easily evading law enforcement. 


The Bruno organization’s use of Differents has also made it extremely difficult for law enforcement officials to apprehend Bruno Family leadership. Multiple incursions into former New Orleans have been conducted by law enforcement and military forces. These incursions have met with heavy casualties, while yielding few notable arrests. Law enforcement officials have turned their focus to controlling the Bruno organization within the [[Metro Areas]], rather than targeting leadership, which is still believed to operate in or around the former city of New Orleans.
