Biography
The Beast is the media name for the domestic terrorist Different known for the November 2008 killing of police officers on duty in the 12th Precinct Headquarters of the Chicago Metro Area Police Department. There were scattered but unconfirmed reports of The Beast targeting citizens in the Chicago Metro Area dating back to early 2007. By October of 2008, The Beast was actively targeting Police officers on patrol, killing at least fifteen officers, although that number may be as high as twenty-six. The killings culminated on November 23rd, 2008, in what the media dubbed “The Beast’s Feast.” The Beast walked into the Precinct 12 headquarters and slaughtered all 37 officers in the building. Nine of the dead officers had parts of their corpse consumed.
In March of 2009, Office of Exceptional Cases agents engaged The Beast, driving him out of the Chicago Metro Area. In August of 2009, The Beast was tracked down in the Non-Assisted Area. There, The Beast assaulted the OEC agents, who responded with deadly force, killing The Beast.
Differentiation
Although no formal evaluation of The Beast was ever performed, reports from witnesses, including OEC agents, and crime scene analysis leads to the conclusion that The Beast was a Physically Enhanced, but under a unique subset. The Beast was similar to the Athlete type, in that he expressed a mix of increased strength, speed, and reflexes. The Beast was unique, though, in that his physical features and appearance were also changed by his Differentiation. The Beast had hair and leathery skin growing all over his body. He had developed an animal like-jaw and canines, and long sharp claws. It was suspected, though never confirmed, that The Beast possessed enhanced senses of sight, hearing, and smell. Some have speculated that The Beast possessed some level of enhanced healing ability like a Regenerator, this was also never confirmed.
The Beast appeared to be Metabolic. He consumed the corpses of many of his victims. Although it is not known how many calories The Beast required to function, he was able to consume several corpses in a small time frame which represents hundreds of thousands of calories.
