Biography
Nicholas was born and raised in the Los Angeles MA. He lived in an upscale apartment in the Metro Center until he Differentiated a the age of 15. Nick's unique vocal chords made his Differentiation obvious. Nick surrendered himself to Section 26 custody. Upon completion of Section 26 training, Nick accepted employment for Ultracorps, working for a Los Angeles MA civil contract to serve as time keeper and emergency alert system for the Metro Area. Nick is part of the Town Crier system, a group of Differents who can manipulate sound and are used as a way to send out messages within the Metro Areas. Many citizens in the Metro Areas cannot afford think.Net service, radios, or alarm clocks. The Town Criers send out emergency alerts and also work as alarm clocks, helping wake up citizens in time for a normal work day.
Differentiation
Nick is a Screamer; he is able to emit an incredible array of frequency and volumes using his voice. He can run across the audible spectrum, sending out low level wavelengths that can be heard through buildings and even high frequency sounds above the human hearing range. The sound is generated from special cells that line Nick’s vocal cords. These cells are able to vibrate at a far greater range than the normal human vocal cord. Nick also has greatly lung capacity and diaphragm strength and can breathe while speaking. His ears and auditory system have also been changed to allow his ears to survive the intense sound levels he can generate. Besides being able to withstand high volumes, Nick's auditory system provides no further advantage.
Nicholas is External powered by sunlight. He has a layer of photoreceptor cells that cover his skin. These cells produce sugars, which Nicholas body uses for normal bodily function as well as to power his abilities. Nicholas has a functional digestive system, but his body produces enough calories to live, provided he gets 4-6 hours of sunlight a day. Nicholas does need to consume water, vitamins, minerals, and salt.
