Biography
Albert Gibson Jr. was born in Pittsburg PA to his mother, Anita. Anita raised Albert by herself because Albert's father, Albert Sr. had while serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. army during World War II. Despite losing her husband, Anita endeavored to raise her son to be as ardent a patriot as his father was.
Albert worked hard in school while his mother worked hard to support her doing any job he could find. Waitress, secretary, cleaning lady. Anita took whatever job she could, to support her and Jr. Albert for his part excelled in school. He was often picked on for his work ethic but this did not deter him.
When Albert turned 14, 1960 his abilities kicked in while he was sleeping. He experienced as sudden and painful transformation as his body split atoms to power itself for the first time. His muscle mass greatly increased as did the density of his cells. This increased his weight to about two-thousand pounds, sending him through the floor of his apartment complex and into the sewer.
Albert awoke in the rumble. Luckily no one was hurt, Albert included. Albert soon found out his was immensely strong as his first stride out of bed sent him hurtling up into the air. His hands crushed anything they touch. His mother approached to try to help him, but fearing for her life, he ended up running into the wilderness.
Anita and other witnesses called the police who informed the Department of Defense. General Norman Grant headed up the mission. He had known Albert Gibson Sr. during the war and the two were friendly.
General Grant tracked down Albert Jr. and explained that he knew his father. Albert Jr. allowed himself to be taken into custody where a training ground was setup to help him learnt to control his abilities. Through training, Albert Jr. learned that if he concentrated, he could limit his strength enough to interact with the normal world. They also trained Albert how to fight. With the skills he gained and his natural strength, he was a one man army.
After turning 18, and in the summer so he could graduate high school at his mother's insistence, Albert joined the army. He was promptly given the rank of sergeant and deployed in Vietnam.
From to January to November of 1965 the U.S. army behind code name BlueHawk, advanced through most of North Vietnam and were poised for victory over the communists before the Russian Different Agent named Borshev intervened. There was pitched battle between the two Differents resulting in a series of Tsunamis that killed hundreds of thousands in Southeast Asia.
In the wake devastation, Borshev and BlueHawk met on their own and mutually agreed to remain within their national borders no matter the demands of their military superiors. Both men honored this agreement; after that date BlueHawk refused to perform any missions outside of the United States border. After an internal debate, Albert Jr. was granted an Honorable Discharge from military service, not a court marshal for insubordination that many in the military advocated.
After retiring from service, Albert who maintained the Blue Hawk moniker, began working as a "super hero" he patrolled the nation, stopping crimes and assisting other Differents who were having trouble due to their abilities. His exploits made him a national icon. He was responsible for stopping many prominent Different criminals.
When the plagues struck in 1980, Blue Hawk made an agreement with Borshev that they could leave their borders to find Cabot. They tracked Cabot to the Middle East. What happened after that is not known, but it is believed that all three were killed in the confrontation.
Differentiation
Albert Gibson was the only known case of Fission powered Strong-Man. Every cell of his body functioned as a mini-nuclear reactor, providing Albert with near limitless strength. It was believed that BlueHawk could have destroyed the planet if his was so inclined. He was able to run hundreds of miles an hour and leap dozens of miles through the air, allowing him to effectively fly.
His cellular structure was reconstituted making him unbelievably dense. This gives him a mass of nearly 2,000 lbs and made his body impervious to harm. It is not known how he was killed in the confrontation with Cabot as many believed Albert was essentially immortal, only dying when his cells consumed all of their radioactive material.
